Abdelkader Chaou
Abdelkader Chaou is a brilliant interpreter of Chaabi born in 1941 in Bab Jdid in the Casbah of Algiers. His musical career debuted when he participated in the radio program of Djillali Haddad. Strongly encouraged, he decided to perfect his art by enrolling at the conservatory of Algiers, then directed by Hadj M’hamed El Anka. In 1966, he recorded his first title, "Ya dhou A yani", at Radio Algiers. Two years later, he joined for a short time the National Theatre of Algiers (the TNA), and participated in a gala organized in Shiraz, Iran.
